1950-52 one of three Japanese architects who worked under Le Corbusier (the other two are Mayekawa Kunio and Sakakura Junzo)
1959 collaborated on Le Corbusier's National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo
  Professor of Architecture at Waseda University
1964 established own practice Atelier U
1980 December 17, passed away
